Congrats on graduating!
Congratulations for all the above university dental students for graduating from your long, long dental course! This is especially for all you kiwi kids back at Otago. I'm from there so I'm extremely biased for the kiwis :PThis will be an exciting time for you as you may be going back home to work or most likely, going to another town or city within Australia or New Zealand to start your new job!To get you started in your dental journey, I've been compiling some starter packs for you to start your dental journey (NSW specific, but can be applied to other states). And if you're a kiwi coming over to Sydney, flick me a mail and get in contact! There's not much of us around, except our dear Dr. Catherine-Anne Walsh, ADA NSW recent graduates committee member and also a councillor! Here are some stuff that I've compiled (all links will open in a new tab for your convenience):
- How to register to practice in Australia, with links to the ADA NSW recent grads handbook
- Some tips and tricks to survive the workforce
- Join the ADA NSW mentoring programme
- 'Like' the ADA NSW Recent Grads to keep up to date with our activities
- Why you should network as a dentist, especially when you're starting in a new place
An example of the service that we as the Recent Graduate committee do is to organise social and lecture events to help you kick start your CPD points and to get you to know us more!
Hope this is more than enough to kick start your journey! Remember that we're here for you, and if you would like to contact me personally, contact me here and I can help out whatever we can to get you sorted into your dental journey! Once again, congratulations doctors! JoeChair of the Recent Graduates Committee of ADA (NSW Branch)BDS (Otago) with Credit, FICCDE
